Get into Grains has been developed to align with Levels 5-6 of the Biological component of the Victorian F-10 curriculum.
Following an introductory presentation students will rotate through three hands-on activities exploring crop seed adaptations, scientific methods of classification, and how different grains relate to commonplace foods. At the Australian Grains Genebank students will be given the opportunity to take a tour of the grain storage facility. This workshop highlights the importance of preserving the diversity of crop plants and how Australian scientists are saving seeds in preparation for changing environmental conditions.
